| Need Road Trip advise for Utah& Colorado
I am leaving 5/11 on a road trip to Utah then Colarado . I will run the 15 to the 70 heading for Aspen. I am looking for great camp sites Along the 70 this side of Grand Junction close to steams and lakes. Any one have any out of the way spots I should no about? or fun bars! Then I heading north to Graybull. And I do have room for one more. Thanks.

By any chance if you get farther east, head north on hwy 9 off I70 in Summit County to Steamboat. The Blue river runs along the hwy for quite a ways and it is a gold medal river. I lived right on the river many years ago in Silverthorne and the fishing was as good as it got for mountain river fishing.

Check out the little creek running by I-70, about 20 or 50 miles or so east of I-15. Don`t know if there`s fish in it, but I swear that creek runs uphill!!!

Jack | What he said. The Blue River along Hwy 9 offers up some excellent trout fishing. They get huge right below Dillon Dam.
You also might want to check out the Green River area in Eastern Utah right off of I-70. Also the Colorado River runs right next to I-70 from roughly the CO/UT border up to just west of Eagle. Plenty of places to pull off along there and give it a try.

I'd almost recommend heading through Bishop, I fished the Owens a month ago and there were some definite monsters in there. From Bishop you can travel south to the 52???(fifty something) and cut straight across to CO. The nice thing about that road is that you can do 100mph across NV and most of UT. As far CO, get a BLM (Bureau of Land Mngmt) map and jump off the road towards any blue dot, these are usually beaver ponds full of trout.....good luck!!

Might want to consider looking into the Black Canyon on your way in, and also going over to the Taylor River below the Dam, huge trout but can be finicky at times. have a great trip and enjoy the scenery.
