Heading up to Crowley Lake on Friday afternoon, and plan on fishing Kirman Lake either Saturday or Sunday for those nice footballs sized brookies and fishing Crowley the rest of the weekend. Will report when we get back on Monday. Anyone else going to be up there?

Im thinking of going up to Bishop and trying to flyfish on the Owens. I know it will be crowded, but Im still going to make the run.

I'll be hitting Crowley Sunday, the Upper Owens on Sat evening and maybe the Loop in tubes Sat morning. So far reports are good for Crowley, looks like pretty mild weather too. The Lower Owens shouldn't be to crowded, everybody goes up the mountain this time of year. Good Luck.

I remember fishing next to you guys last year during the Labor Day weekend. I'll keep an eye out for you. You guys should be able to fish the Hiltons, so you don't have to paddle out so far. I had an awesome afternoon bite there last year at this time. Fished right out side the weed line in about 16ft of water. That's where I'm starting and then I might check out Sandy Point, also a good early season spot till the wind comes up.
Thanks for the heads up Harold. What was the hot fly or color?

We will either be at Sandy Point(6 bays), Leighton Springs, or Green Banks. We are usually anti McGee Bay, Hilton areas because of the wind factor.

We fished the Gator Point area just north of the floating head. Most fish weigthed over 2.5lbs . Lost some fish in the 6 to 8lbs class. Most of the float guys stayed in that area . I think I would work north about a 1/2 mile away from the crowd. Work the bottom. I have been in contact with friends that are still there and the bit is still going on.
Good Luck
