| Strawberry in Utah Mojo, G$ and I went up to Strawberry this morning with our pontoon boats. Got in the water by about 8:30a.m. There was still a little fog on the water at Ladders and the water was glass smooth. Chilly, but again no wind so quite pleasant. Ran into great bunch of guys from another forum. I had to show off the net that Gregory Walker made for me so here is a few of the fish I landed: The wind picked up around 12:30, so we headed home. The fish of the day however goes to MOJO . 27" FAT cutt. The bad thing was the batteries in his camera went dead, but he had plenty of wittnesses |

When I was a kid on Oregon, the family would make our usual road trip to Utah to see family in SLC. Grandma has a beautiful view of the mountains in her back yard. Oddly enough, she has an irrigation stream running though her backyard. All she has to do is to water her lawn is dam it for a little while. Then when she drains the flooded backyard, there is little minnow-like fish jumping around in the grass. Fertilizer I guess. Anyway, I went fishing on a lake up there, I don't think it was strawberry, but we did nail some monster trout. I've driven past Strawberry a few times. I still have fond memories of the scenery there and before the lake (isn't it a resevoir? For some reason I remember calling it Strawberry Resevoir). I also had a chance to fish the Green River in Wyoming. I didn't catch any fish but they were everywhere. Great pics....

Yes it is a resevoir. It has had it's share of trouble. Several years ago they bought the World supply of rotenoe (m/s) to kill all the chub that were taking over the res. due to everyone taking all the big fish. Bear Lake cutts are meat eaters (where as the Yellowstone cutts in Henry's are not) Then previous to that, it was one big resevoir and they broke the dam down to make room for more water. They came up with Soldier Creek which is connected to Strawberry by a channel. Funny how different each side fishes however. The new regs for the waters have made a big difference and things are getting back to normal.
It is beautiful up there specially right now with all the color changes

Joni:
Glad to hear that Alan had the pig of the trip; however, I suspect sabotage with the camera batteries. One of these days all the planets and stars will align and we will see a post with Alan and a porn star trout from a famous Stillwater. Hope I can be the one to take the photo.
