ADDED: I won the rod and reel pictured below with rio nymphing line (you'd laugh if you knew me) 3 nights at Snow Creek Lodge and various gift certificates for local restaurants and what not. Stripping is better than midging.

Jeff there is alot of fish out in the deeper water in McGee like 14-17 feet but that is where the fleet will be and it is awesome one day and slow the next. Inside at the mouth of McGee there isnt as much fish but the ones there are BIG!!! North arm is still pretty slow because of the weed beds but there are some good days over there right next to shore along the Green Banks.

If you want a shot at a huge fish the afternoon bite has been really good with alot of BIG fish crashing on perch fry along the weed beds.

Yes. This year it was $75 for individual and $75 for team. All proceeds go to getting more brown trout in Crowley except this year there is a supposed quarantine on browns in CA or something like that. Either way it goes to help the fishery. As I understand it all prizes are donated.

Congrats on the win--I imagine that you have to fish against quite a few (local included) good stix in that venue.

What is the "bobber" midge fishing?
The midge fishing I do is with 10 ft. 3wt. and 9.5 ft 2 wt. rods, and #20 to #26 dry flies. Maybe I am doing it all wrong? Again.
