Another week in Montana and the fishing was off the hook. Blackfoot, Bitter Root, Last day to float the Upper portion of Rock Creek and Culminating with opening day at Georgetown Lake. Can you say Roped em??
A monster Bull Trout on a live Cutty pattern....... The big sucker wanted about a 10 inch Cut Throat and decided to inhale it whole. After getting the Char into the net it spits out the Cutty who looked a bit bewildered but was completely unharmed. All parties involved had a happy ending as both the Cutty and Bull Trout were released though that Cut Throat has a tale to tell all his buddies. The Bull trout was never hooked as he just kept that Trout in his throat and just refused to spit it back up. FAAAAANTASTIC
Check out Montana's only video flyfishing reports. You will see kids catching big rainbows with 4 year Old Dawson nailing yet another beauty. For some reason even I have a bit of time in the video with a broom tail 23 1/4 Rainbow on the bugger, a decent cutty and a monster white fish. Yes, they fight and I for one cannot figure out why they are considered second class citizens cuz they are fun to catch. Add in many 50+ fish days for this fisherman and many more by my wonderful Lady who fly fishes with me, Charly, sprinkle in perfect weather and of course the incredible folks from Montana and you can see why this is A Mecca for fly fishing. Black foot River Outfitters is just the best outfit I have ever experienced and I have been around the world many times. Only problem is they book up fast and once you fish with them you WILL keep coming back.
