More crap......... I mean carp!

I fished a marsh in the Salt lake area and found the motherload of feeding carp. It was a blast to have some really hot fishing in the dead middle of summer. These fish are massive and fight like nothing else. I landed my personal best carp on a fly rod, I am having a blast fishing for these freshwater bonefish!

There are a few duck clubs out around there. I don't duck hunt so I couldn't say for sure.

Wow, those are impressive fish!! Are you using a six weight and what is the hot pattern, if you don't mind?

I thought you were at the shop today?

I heard there was an 11 caught over at the crowded hole, yesterday.

I forgot how hard these things pull! We caught them all week in the bay right behind the trailer at Big Bear.

I got the seven weight thankfully. I should maybe even get an eight for these things. I have just been using crazy charlies and clouser swimming nymphs. Sometimes for some weird reason they are very picky and will only take like a size 18 pheasant tail. I heard about that eleven too, thats a nice fish. Sure wish I could get one!

Nice fish Ev. I caught my first golden bone while fishing up at Clark Canyon a couple of weeks ago. Was darn near the highlight of the trip given how bad the fishing was.

The reports we were getting from several different sources was that the lake was putting out on average 20 fish days. I always thought that those kind of reports were per fisherman. I think the new way of reporting is the total # fish being caught for the entire body of water.
