Joni, I had sent Bruce a note over a month ago that we were planning on being up there to see if he and Shelly could come up and fish with us. He said he'd be gone so I asked him to have Shelly send me her number. This one is on Bruce!!

And yes I did take the fish to the local F&G office today and they were pretty stoked to get to check it out for science purposes. The hatchery manager for Henrys just happened to be there and without going throuhg the whole details here is the short version.

The biggest fish he has ever weighed at Henrys was 13.8 pounds and that was caught in a net. The biggest that was cuaght on rod and reel was a tad over 13 pounds. My fish, which was frozen and they indicated that a normal rule of thumb is that a fishes loses about 1/2 pound when frozen, weighed 14.2 pounds on their calibrated electronic scale. This made my fish the BIGGEST fish he has ever seen!!!

So whose buying the beer? And Joni if you catch a double digit trout on a dry fly I am buying for sure!!!!!

I don't drink beer! I guess I should have taken them mine! 34 to 35 inch long and the girth was at least 24"...Hummm I wonder what it did weight?
I have the angel on my shoulder I guess, cause I do seen to catch the big ones while the guys all have the numbers.
Like I said though, 6 wt. rod, 6 wt. Intermediate and 6 lb fluoro. This year I am also going to try the glass which broke last year so was unable to use it, which is okay cause the fishing SUCKED while I was there.
I will also try 4 lb fluoro with the glass.
Dry Fly, It just might have to be 4lb, but again, it is glass, unless I can get my boo built in time.
VERY NICE STEVIE! Now call Shark!

And that's larger than this?

or this?

Caught on a size 12 Hot Chocolate 6 lb. (2.7kg.) tippet.

But they're both bigger than anything I've ever caught.

Joni, I think you had the state record with that fish. How long was it again?

This is a random question, but why doesn't Idaho have catch and release records?

I don't know on the record for Idaho, but biggest fresh water I have ever caught. I want so bag to go for Salmon and Steelhead now.
But don't sell yourself short, young man, you have caught some MONSTERS, and the ones from the rivers impress the heck out of me.
As far as length, I say 35, my Hubby said 34. I did wrap a bungie from my net around her then measured it back at camp and it was 24+" girth. It was very hard to hold on a pontoon, and I have no apron.
Still got that extra bed in the trailer Everett. September!
