Shore- 4 lb w/2 lb leader clear bubble float filled w/water. It stays just above the weeds. Powerbait.......slack line I let em run without knowing they are hooked. super light drag..........play play play.......fun stuff and you'll lose some but worth it as the hook up ratio goes way up w/2lb test. From boat super slow troll-rapalas or worms-real or colored ones . personall I like the shore 15-20 feet out at dusk/ dawn.....many cast too far out........kids only till 12 saturday derby time........lots of fun!!!!!!!!!!!! SMALL HOOKS I go with 18 treble from shore. they never feel it till it's too late..........
In the past i've had luck with 3" powerworms. Two different ways Pin one on a #8 hook with a split shot about 24 inches above hook then SLOWLY troll it behind you ( forgot to mention this was while using my float tube) and clear bubble with a powerworm about 2-3 ft. below it with same size hook , cast out and SLOWLY retrieve. Very deadly ! Works great in the sierra's too. Ive caught many 5 pound plus trout this way fishing the inlet at Convict. Good luck!!
