Im coming down to Cali this week and was thinking about wetting a line at Skinner...I fished there like 18 years ago but dont really remember anything except I caught a handful of fish...If anyone has any helpful info Id be stoked...Do u need to/should u rent a boat? What baits/lures are popular? What does the bite usually go on there? etc...Thanks...
Don't go so Skinner. Go to Diamond Valley,exactly what he said is the best advice you can get. I just fished Skinner last week. Lake is nothing like it used to be ! Not a stick of bait (shad) to be seen, let alone being caught. Absolutly a dead hellhole. The only things catchable are carp, and a couple of trout. Very tough fishing ! Diamond Valley is the REAL DEAL !~ Excellent fishery for Bass, Striper and NICE Trout !
