Headed to Mammoth lakes area this weekend for five days 9-8 to 9-12, staying at Tom's cabin unit#10. Enjoy fishing many of the lakes up there, my favorite is Lundy Lake, then Saddleback. My wife dosen't fish, so if anyone wants to share a morning of fishing together, PM me. Always fun to meet new fishermen, and share experiences.

I'll be up there too. Staying between Mammoth and the Loop. The weather has been great up there. I'll probably hit the pass Sunday and Monday if I actually make it out of camp.

Wish I could go with you. I'm a teacher so vacation time is over for now, but I did spend two weeks fishing Lundy in July. Also my favorite Lake. In July it was an early and very late bite on Lundy. If the sun was up it was tough fishing. We did manage to catch over 200 fish (all released).
Have a Great Trip.
PS I also fished Trumball Lake (Virgina Lakes)for the first time and did very well on my Yak.

Well, we are on our way up still. Decided to spend the night at Coso on the way up and drive throught the valley during the day. Weather so far is beautiful. I'm thinking Saddlebag or one of the other Pass lakes on Sunday or Monday. I'm hoping the campground is not packed.

090807 update. Ellery and Tioga were beautiful. Water level is down a little but still flowing. Both lakes looked slow for the shore guys. We managed one small brown (released) before getting enough rain to send us back down the pass. We might head up again today but pizza in Mammoth is calling.
090907 update. June Lake Loop had gorgeous weather yesterday. Big storm clouds moved through but nothing fell on Gull as of 1600 hours. We managed a few rainbows on the powerworm and what looked like a Crappie. I did not see anyone else so much as get bit. None of our bait sticks got touched with Powerbait and Gulp both in the water. Heading to Lee Vining for breakfast in a minute, then off to Mono and probably the pass later in the day.
