There actually are fish in that weed pond and several people have fished it, myself included. However that old pond is the property of Carlsbad water district and there official line is that "fishing/floating that lake is prohibited and trespassing". The property around the lake is open "for now" to public activities according to them but that depends on the developer that just purchased the surrounding land

And to think that I thought this was about a lake in Caleveras County ( northern cali )... The lake was called Lake Wildwood and has a strong history in my family.I remember the jumpin frog contests at the county fair and slayin huge bass at driver pond ( all C & R )awwwwwwe fuck me ...the memmories
