Fresh water fish finder

Just curious how many use a portable fresh water cheapy fish finder?

I think I should get one because I need all the help I can get out there . Would be cool to see nugs of Trout and structure in lakes instead of fishing completely blind like I have been.

What kind is good for CHEAP. Pink pickle warrior help?

Also people who fish the same lake all the time do you guys ever slowly build your own top secret structure with cement blocks or something and mark it on GPS and continue to build it over the years.

there are some nice ones out there for 200 and less. i have the "fishin buddy 2200" that has side scan and water temp. they CAN be helpful when those little fuckers are hiding deep, but for most bass fishing, i just use my eyes. good for trout and crap-pie hunting mostly or spring/winter deep bassing.

check out www.cabelas.com

pretty good selection of tap water related finders.

Thanks dude. I will probally hold off this summer but I want one for fishing Trout next season for sure. I suck at LMB so I have to fish them in private lakes and ponds and golf courses where there is very little challenge or none at all

Side scan your gnarly setting up on schools huh .

Look at the Hummingbird fishfinders, Very good and inexpensive. I have used these for years for fresh water (trout fishing) in the Sierras.

for my floatube i use the fishing buddy 1200 and 2400, has depth ,temp and a few other features as weel as a side scan which is not very useful in the skinny /shallow water but will defanitely show the depth of the fishey so you can better target the depth they are holding in and structure as well

in the 14' valco (tin can ) i use the hummingbird bird matrix 15,17,27 excellent finder for the smaller boats has several options for the salt
( not necesarrily the finder i would reccomend for chasing tuna ) but a great finder for a few hundred dollars that has some capablity to see wahts up down there in fishland whether your choice is spotties ,trout ,LMB,crappie ,sandies ,etc, etc,

good luck
