The Symetre cost about $89-$100 and has pretty much most of the features that the Stella has minus those "expensive" drag washers and all. I've also caught 10# rainbows and 6# bonita on the same set up. I'm waiting for the day when I'm outmatched/over powered by a trout on that setup... would be in heaven if that were the case!!!

loving the symetre"s ,

i have 3 of them but use them for another purpose , got out gunned on them today but it was NOT the fault of the reel it was the fault of the angler who brought a bee bee gun when he should have had a damm
shotgun or better

i hate when that stuff happens

another story another day , lets go play with the trout !!!!!!!

Don't get me wrong. I like fishing for planted trout just fine and I think it's great that they plant around here. Now that I have kids though, 4 times out of 5 I hand off any fish I hook (although that ratio is dropping as the boys are getting better at getting it done themselves). I'm mostly the designated knot tier, boat driver and net man. Wouldn't change any of it. Love taking my boys fishing at the local lakes.

And eventually graduate to fishing on the ocean, if they are lucky.

They're a bit handicapped as I grew up freshwater fishing and just started dipping my toe into salt water fishing in the last few years.

I know that. I was speaking about all kids in general.
I hope that they all get a chance to enjoy the worlds oeans as much as I have.

Big stocker trout can be very compelling.

Them were some nice looking boneheads you guys got.

the big one took 800ft on the first run and took over 1 1/2 hrs to get to the net on 12lb. He went to 400 ft straight down, we could see him on the finder under the boat, he was 27.8 lbs. Notice no messed up fins or broken faces on these beauties.......
