That's rad! I actually did a lot of carp fishing when I was stationed in England. 2lb and a 13ft noodle rod. It's a huge industy in Europe. It can be a real blast! It's actually quite a challenge over there because you fish in little stocked farm ponds, with barbless hooks. C&R only and the fish have been caught so many times that there are spooky as hell. You use some crazy rigs over there. "hair rigged boilies" and shit like that. Cool stuff...

that would be fun as heck on a long rod!

the crazy part about my fight with this fish is he ran under the dock from the beach on otherside and i had to pass the rod under the dock and my roomate cupped the line on the other side! There was a chance id never see the rod again ...luckily the only damage was a wet drag that prooved annoying to finish the fight!

Ive seen on youtube and other sights that carp are pretty big time in certain parts of the world...sad its just considered a total garbage fish here...maybe cuz they are far from pretty!

Deja Vu man. I'm in Boulder CO. Fishing for bass with a brown black flake gitzit. tail snagged a 7 pound carp. Was using a heavier rod than yours.

My parents used to own Rustic resort up on the poudre which sadly has recently burned down, there are some very large trout up that way if you put in your time & explore, I have caught a few in the 8lb range & seen larger ones that were smarter than me. I used to think of it as my second home & it broke my heart when they moved away. Gods country up there.
