They are putting in a batch of trout in the 15 to 20 pound range before the lake even opens this year . 20 freaking pounders . Raising the bar on what is big. Look out for some impressive catches . My wife and I are fishing media day , and I will be hitting the lake saturday after work as well . I will post a report .

I didn't think they put the bigger ones in until the water really cools off in late November or early December because they easily die off if the water is not right. I know I got my 15 pounder in January last year.

Anyhoo, good luck to those who go. Too crowded for me. I prefer midweek after the pressure is off the lake.

This year will be different . I have good information . Pigs are going in for the opener. If I hear different , I will update .

And yes , it will be crowded for the opener.

the past few years they have opened early oct. this is why they waited longer this year so the water will be cooler!the big ones are coming like ken said!!! ill be there on press day as well and working in the shop fri am then fishing!! water temp at the lake now is 65-67 cooling daily!
