The lake will be purchasing 40 brand new trolling motors for the upcoming trout season. Both my neighbor and I agree that they need to purchase quality batteries. The batteries they use in the rental boats are of shitty quality and lose power quickly. It's the #1 reason why I spend much less time bass fishing the lake. When you come in late it costs extra $$$$$ so I just call the lifeguard and get towed in.

I live on the lake. Fuck the lifeguards, fuck their fines, and fuck them and their power trips. Stand up to them (especially the 20 year olds that think they are 45) and they will fold like the buffalo bills in the super bowl. The trout like all of the white sand swim beaches. Dont forget about the giant catfish that come to feast as well. Got a 60 lb blue last year. Got him on an accurate 270, no chance for him haha. Hopefully the trout wont roll over like last year. See you guys on the water.

Yeah i been bugged about the same thing. The lifeguards need to learn what 15 feet is. Sometimes were like 15 yards away and they still hassle us. Its gettin pretty stupid there. How many of you have actually cussed them out and not got kicked out though?

My experience with the lifegaurds has been positive. I've seen them be rude but it was to people breaking the rules. Follow the rules and you will be fine. It's pretty simple. If they say you are too close then move back. The lake is big and not all the fish are within 15 feet or 15 yards of docks and swimming area. You could also just cast a bit farther. It's kinda like fishin paddies...Everyone wants to cast to the kelp.....kinda funny actually. After all they are the inforcer and "Man" at Mission Viejo. Just my two pennies. Good luck!

I've been fishing there since it opened in the 70's, back then there weren't to many swimming beaches, let alone houses & the majority of the fish were found in the deeper water, but since all the housing & beaches the trout do like the sand & yes the lifegaurds can be dicks, but allot of the homeowners are calling in & complaining when they think you're fishing to close to the beach, the concern is hooks & lures in the sand. So I get it, but that's still not goona keep me from breaking the rules once in awhile, that school of nice trout against that nice white sand is just to tempting!
