shasta & clear lake

just got back from shasta & clear lake.first time to shasta,lots of shore launching and camping spots at jones valley.after driving 12 hours couldnt wait to get wet,launched from dirt,1 tire on trailer fell in hole spun tire and sunk.left truck and trailer and backed boat out and fished.cool local dragged me out in am and relocated to cement ramp.fished pit arm for smallies and spots.lake 80 degrees pit river 70 degrees.saw deer,bald eagles,milky way.small plastics the way to go.ffuel at dock about 4.70 a gal.hot up there at 107 degrees.love to go back but killer drive.went to clear lake about 2 or 3 hour drive.lower lake full of algie upper lake full of weeds cruised lake till found good water.east side upper by road[lucern?]good fish all 3-5 pounders water 80 degrees .love clear lake.thanks to all good people of norcal for a great trip.
