I headed up Thursday night to Mammoth with my Dad and my Uncle Nick. It looks like we got lucky as the weather is finally settling down.
Woke up early Friday and dropped the "Farmer's Daughter" in Crowley, and headed over to McGee. Got a tip from a buddy they were eating the night crawlers on the bobber, real good, so rigged it up. I know it's bait fishing, but bait fishing doesn't get any more fun than watching a bobber start going going down and then getting pulled across the water like Jaws pulling a barrel. We started getting them pretty steady on that, and while sitting there caught quite a few casting Thomas Bouyants in red/gold.

Here is the limit for Friday with me any my Dad
We left the boat in a slip there, and fired it up around 0700 and ran back out to McGee. We had such good fishing casting lures, that we decided to surface troll this time. Started pulling Fire Mira Shads and the Red/ Gold Bouyant, and again started roping them pretty good. Got them inside of the Shithouse in McGee from 14-20ft of water.
Here is my dad with a nice 2.5lb Brown
And again our limit for Saturday, me and my Pops
We were done around noon, so we grabbed lunch and decided to run up to Saddle Bag lake up on Tioga Pass, one of our favorites for the afternoon. This lake is right at the top of Tioga pass before you drop into Yosemite and it is about 11,000 ft. There is still a ton of snow up here, made for just awesome scenery.
Here is my dad and Uncle fishing with mountains in the bacground, just to give you idea of how much snow is still there.
I walked over to the other side of the damn, and sat on this corner of snow, and just went to work on them for about an hour and a half or so. Had over a dozen there, nothing terrible big, but fun on light rod and mini jigs.

Father's day, we packed up the gear and ran down to Crowley to get a few more hours in before heading home. We decided to troll a little deeper, with leadcore and downriggers. Started off the morning with this 20" Cutthroat release on the Bouyant 4 colors out.
We kept scratching them pretty good till about noon. My dad got a nice brown about 20" also released after this photo. Hit bubblegum needle fish down 25ft on the rigger.
Awesome trip with my dad, he's been going up here since '66 and has had me going all my life, and I never get enough. Always a good time up there, and so hard to leave. Only wish my little brother was with us, he is serving in Afghanistan, and we will have to wait for next year.
