rancho bernardo has alot of ponds. best bet is get a mountain bike get up high on some of the fire / sdg&e roads and look around, most are easy to spot.

Yep..I did a few years ago. There are two of them up there. You need a tube for both. They were good in 2001, last time I fished them a couple years back the fish were all suuuupeeer skinnny like an El Cajon tweaker beeyotch.

you might want to check out discovery lake in san marcos. google it near bent ave. we get 2 lbers on flukes and swimbaits. lots of weeds by the rocks but no luck with frogs yet. let me know how you like it. another pond we call las posas in san marcos. we tubed it ans caught same size bass on spinnerbaits

buena vista lagoon, oside/c'bad

we usually fish buena vista lagoon between oceanside and carlsbad, towards railroad tracks. limited shore area but we can usually get them on buzzbaits and rattletraps. lots of weeds there too. just started getting into flukes and senkos, which would kill em there too.

buena vista lagoon, California, USA - Google マップ - 地図検索

There are two buena vista lagoons listed on the google map near each other. I have fished one, and it was not great.
I did not try the area by the railroad tracks, like you mentioned, though.

The southern one is actually aqua hedionda. The real buena vista lagoon has good bass, but limited access. It is a really delicate fishery with alot of fishing pressure and too many people keeping fish. The bass didnt get a good spawn this year because of all the pressure. Please catch and release in there.
