Twin Lakes in Mammoth

With the winds today the open water areas underneath the bridges is really starting to open up fast. The middle lake has a big section of water open now and if the winds really plow hard today and tomorrow could have about 1/4 of the lake open, which means only a matter of a week until it is free of ice. Warmer than normal weather expected next week and highs could be in the 60s which will get everything melting up here. I'm heading up to the upper lakes to check them out sometime this week and I'll let you know my predictions for ice fishing up there for the opener. I'll also throw some pictures up soon to show the progress.

Cool!

I love fishing Twin Lakes.
That entire area is a blast to take the family too for a get away.

Great input - I'm gettin all hyped up - not so much for opening day / crowds, but we fish the whole first week and after the weekend warriors are gone, the lakes are wide open... Just remember to put quarters in the machine which keeps the wind away...!
