| Tuesday Afternoon troll
Hit the water about 1 pm for a little troll session. Water is clearing up and reports of good trolling coming in the last few days. I did good today , but not on the trout. I found a little area holding LMB. They were eating the firetiger shad rap pretty good. Released 5 LMB . Nothing huge . I caught 2 LMB trolling through the area and then casted for 3 more. Probably the most bass I have ever caught at the vine. I do not normally target them. The trouting was slow for me today. 1 rainbow on a Brown Trout pattern crankbait near the damn buoy line . That was in about 2 hours of trolling for those bastards . I had a friend say that he got 9 trout in the morning today on the gold and the brown trout pattern cranks. I guess it was a morning bite today. I have had some tough days trolling for trout with bluebird skys like today. I have a few good days as well. Ya never know. I saw a 12 pound rainbow caught by a kid in the flats today on a powerworm and the anglers on trout island reeling in fish as I trolled by. Tight Lines !

Nice job Ken.
Remember that thread where the guy said he never caught anything on Firetiger and I said we were whackin the LMB on them infront of trout island?
Nice to see the LMB showing up in numbers at the Vine.
With all those little ones must mean theres some big ones cruising somewhere down below.

Ken, thanks for the report. There are lots of bass in the Vine if you really want them.
I think the trout are moving deeper in spite of the cooling temps. I am looking forward to some more downpours to bring the water level up some more. I just hope that there will be a couple weeks between the storms so the waters can clear up.

The bass are fun when the go on the chew. Alot of small ones , but they have some big ones too. I am gonna spend more time this spring targeting those fish. I did ok last year the few attempts i made. Got a 3 pounder pitching a white spinner bait into the edges of flooded trees. Fun fishing for people like me with a short attention span. Constantly pitching and casting and adjusting the boat. It is tricky without a bass boat. Anyways, this weekend could be epic for the trollers if the lake gets a couple more stockings of the big boys. The bait fisherman are nailing them . Tight Lines !
