Silverwood 8/19

Fished all day for nada. There were maybe 20 boats fishing, and I saw two fish, both under eight inches. The wind was blowing at 7AM and by 3PM must have been 40+ MPH.

The wind never stops up there. That together with the hard bottom on the good areas of the lake makes it tough to hold your spot.

the wind usually doesnt blow until about 11 am and the fishings very good in the am.try the dam buoy line area with cut anchovies and light line for non stop action on 1-5lb stripers and big channel cats(to 18 lbs last trip)the fish usually hold pretty deep (50-100')this time of year and theres always a chance at a bigger model stripers(throw big trout imitations early and late in the day)they say 10% of the fisherman catch 90% of the fish,do yourself a favor and learn a little bit about the weather patterns and the spot you are going to fish before going and join the 10%.good luck to you.....

marlyn is definetly right!

it helps to know about weather patterns at the lake. especially silverwood.
sometimes those big trout imitation baits do really well up there.
couple have got some 10lb plus pound stripers in fall on them.
