Bakersfield, California Striper Hunting w/pics

Got off work early yesterday and decided to go Striper hunting. I was headed out to the Aquaduct to my usually productive spot. After spending approx 2 hrs trowin jigs i had only caught one 15" Striped Bass. So I decided to go investigate something I'd seen on my way to my usual spot. When I arrived at this normally dry canal that feeds the Aquaduct I was not too surprised to see 100's of big Carp. So out comes a 3/4 oz. rattle Trap for a little fun About my third attempt at a carp I feel a whack,(definately not a carp) IT WAS NOW ON! After my third LMB, I got a hell of a whack and was pleasantly pleased to have the opportunity to fight a very formitable 8lb pig. Put him in my ice chest and retied my trap so not to lose a bigger striper. Another cast and whack! This 10lb pig was definately a little more pissed to feel the steel set in the corner of his mouth. I was using a medium action Abu Garcia and a 5500 AG reel with 10lb test so I was not gunna bully this warrior in. After a valiant effot I was able to tire this formiable foe. Hope you enjoy my blog, I enjoyed thinkin about yesterday and will hopefully soon have more stories to tell.
