Today Kicked Ass! My kids at the Catfish derby

Today was awsome for sure!!! I took the wife, my 7year old daughter Zoe and 1 1/2 year old son Caleb, to the catfish derby. Each of my kids weighed in one catfish. Both fish were only around a quarter pound. It's not the size that matters to kids, they just wanted to see something on the end of the line We also got them hooked up to a bluegill each. All the fish were released to fight another day, after being weighed in. The kids were happy to be able to watch them swim away.

Price of bait, hooks and goodies for the trip :$40. Watching your kids yank on fish :priceless.

BTW Kevan see the stickers on that cooler in the video, I'm still spreadin the word brother!!!!

Yep Thats one of the reasons everything was released!!!! Besides the size.

Yea they stocked it for the derby, but even being in there a short time I wouldn't eat them. Hell the homeless wont even eat out of there!!!

Dude its so much fun having them catch fish, and not having to clean a boat afterwards. In 20 years I'm gona put that vid up for him, to let him remember at what age he was fishing. You know when hes a young man and thinks he knows it all, remember son there was a time!!! My 22 year olds favorite pic, is one of himself sitting in my lap reeling in a batray when he was 3 years old.

It was deffinatly a fun day!! I like the look on his face in the fourth pic, that pretty much sums up the day.BTW I'm gona stop in and pick up some marlin jigs before you shut the doors on me

The size of the fish does matter to the kids--those catfish are "huge" to them. All that matters is the fun they had. Good job Dad.
