Lake Mead shad????

Just wondering if the shad are up on top in the vegas wash and can be netted...I was out there a couple weeks ago and was able to get some..Heading there friday for a week...Jim.

For shad?Didnt see any last month but the smallie bite was epic. 40-50 fish days in the upper lake.

I havent been out in about 10 days, but did manage to make some shad in coves in about 4 feet of water (Wash area). From what i understand shad are still available and should be for another couple weeks. You wont be able to braile them though, you'll need a cast net. Be careful as NV regs state the cast net shall be no longer than 3 feet. If you get checked by NDOW and have shad on your boat, they may ask to see your net.

I thought I read in Ariz. regs a throw net is legal everywhere in Az. except the colorado river. For sure not legal for Cal. license holders.

Lake Mead, wash area is NV, not AZ. Net is legal as long as the radius is no more than 3 feet.
