Name: Mark Vessel: 2004 1802 Trophy Walkaround Location: Murrieta Job:Envelope Machine Operator/Inspector | Lake Wohlford 5/8/08 Fished Lake Wohlford today from 12pm until almost 6pm to see if I could still catch some lake fish. I grew up freshwater fishing but I've been mainly ocean fishing the past 6 or 7 years and have only gone freshwater fishing once since then, which was about a month ago at lake Wohlford and I got skunked. I threw a small rattle trap along the shoreline starting from boat dock cove and working my way down past murphy's rock towards the buoy line and caught two bass off the rocks. I worked my way back on the other side of senior shoreline where I caught a trout with the same rattle trap off the rocks towards the buoy line on that side of the lake. The weather was really nice. The sun was out and there were no clouds, I even got sunburn and the water looked a lot cleaner then the last time I was there. The wind really picked up around 4pm and made it hard to fish so I called it a day around 5 something. Carp were jumping clear out of the water all over the lake and some fisherman told me the catfish bite was good. Sorry if this is a long report I just thought I'd share my day away from working full time and going to school and dealing with all the other bs in life lol.
This was the lure I was using and don't let the picture fool you that bass weighed 17 pounds haha
2nd bass
No picture of the trout I ended up giving it to another fisherman because I didn't bring a stringer or cooler. Good luck guys I should be back out there either tuesday or next weekend. |
