| Took my boy to Diamond Valley 4-12-08
Woke up at 3:00am to meet a buddy in Temecula at 5:00am. Was in line at DV by 5:30am, watched the sunrise and gates opened at 6:00am. Through gates, boat launched, truck parked and in the water by 6:30. Everywhere we went (all around the lake), bass on their beds in 3 to 15 feet of water. Water was clear, a little windy and temp was 90 degrees. Off the water by 12:30pm. Caught approximately 20 big mouth and 1 small mouth between 3 of us. All fish caught were in the range of 2 to 3.5 pounds, only brought home 4 big mouth ranging from 16 to 19 inches and 3 to 3.5 pounds. |

Great day on the water with your son.
I hope no "FE's" say that you should have released all the bass, because that would show the extent of their retardation .

Good deal on the fishes - Brian is always telling me about his fishing adventures and wonders why my boat is always just sitting there!
The next thing you know his grandpa & friends will be building him his own race car...

The small fought harder than the bigs. I still prefer the ocean even though it was fun taking my boy out. They were some very tasty fish.

Hey Steve,
Thanks! I bet my racecar will be built before your boat gets out on the water.

I was watching Ol' Dan Hernandez a few weeks ago and he was fishing DVL. They headed to the shoreline, scooped up some bait in the shallows and then used them like you would on boiling saltwater fish. All they caught were LMB but apparently trout and other gamefish will bite on them as well. Pretty cool if you ask me.
