Re: MARTINEZ LAKE,AZ

Can you fish out on the river or are you req to stay on Martinez? Small place to hold a tourney.... unless there aren't many guys fishing it. Google Earth it and you'll see what I'm talking about. Lots a sticks on the right side going in. There are a couple little islands in there too.

Re: MARTINEZ LAKE,AZ

If you are fishing a tournament out of Martinez or Fishers you can fish any lake, backwater or channel that is connected to the Colorado. Martinez as well as Ferguson, Squaw, Island and Taylor all have good fishing at times. Good luck!

Re: MARTINEZ LAKE,AZ

As far as i know we are just fishing on martinez. Im expecting to flip some jigs and some small swimbaits into some cover. Im sure senkos and other plastics work around the tulles there. Any info on color there? Planning on green pumpkin or watermelon for worms and jigs.

Re: MARTINEZ LAKE,AZ

Having a tournament there and only being able to fish Martinez is in insane. There are tons of good water all connected by boat. If you can only fish Martinez the deepest water open this time of year is in front of the marina and going east. I’m going to be there for a week starting tomorrow. Bump the post and I’ll let you know what I find.

Re: MARTINEZ LAKE,AZ

Just bring 2-3 Flippen sticks, A few blades. I doubt they are going to make stay in Marteniz only. Bring baits to flip into heavy cover. Stick to smaller baits than the jig!
