Cuyamaca 12/6

Nice day at the lake, slow bite, got one here and there on the power bait but started getting the steady pic when we switched to crawlers. Watched a guy throw a cast master for about an hour for nada. Nothing to write home about, all DFG fish. Checked at the ranger station around 2pm and no Alpers or browns had been reported. The lake is definately turned over, everything bit within two feet of the bottom. Any one know how to get those wild fish to bite after the lake turns and it is really cold?

Was up there last Mon and fished all day for 5 small ones. Crawlers fly lined with green or white power bait. Trolled for hours for nada, sat near the far end from boat ramp.

Re: Cuyamaca 12/6

Fished up there with Wildcat day after Thanksgiving. Only one on the troll, (#5 floating FT Rapala). Water was so dirty you couldn't see a lure until it was at the tip...no more than 2" visibility if that. Anchored up and got a steady bite going on the night crawlers. Both floating it off the bottom with app. 24" leader, and working it back slowly behind a water bobber. It was very cold, and blowing so hard we could barely hold anchor...had to scope it way out. We didn't see any of the Alper's, or Browns caught either. They are in there and when they decide to bite it's gonna be a very good bite.
