Poway Spawning Report for June 20th

I went down to H&M Landing this morning cause I was suppose to work a 2 day but we ended up only having 8 people call in reservations so it was a no go so I decide to come home get my rod and go to Poway. First I stop over at a rock pile and pick up a couple 1 pounders off dropshot. Then I head over to the opposite shoreline and start looking for beds and right away started finding them and most were willing to bit I pulled 6 off using a white jig. While at the very end of the shoreline almost towards hidden I saw a male on the bed and then the female a few yards away and this female looked between 8-10 I flipped the jig and work it first pause I got slammed and the hook popped out then it turns around on it again and slams it a second time once again missing the fish and after that it was off did not want to come back at all so I caught the male after waiting for about 30 minutes and that fish was about 3.5. The wind picked up around noon so I decided to go in for lunch. Once I was done eating the wind had died down and I went back to the boat and worked the shoreline that the stairs are on and picked up 4 bass off beds over there biggest going 5.5lbs. While during lucnh I met fishhawk and the story he told me on how he got his name is quite funny cool person to. While on the shoreline he said there was a nice size female on the bed ight next to where I was so I started fishing hit and once again not only do I lose her but I lost her three different times the second time I got her a couple yards away from the boat she popped off and the the third time the hook popped off after the hook set and this fish was probably at least a 7. I left the lake at 4. All in all not a bad day for a few hours of fishing 10:30-4:00.
total-12 bass biggest going 5.5 and smallest going about a little over a pound.

Matt
