56 inch long, 55lb Northern Pike

Not a personal report but thought this was pretty cool. My uncle e-mailed this to me:

This is the new record in Canada. He caught it on the Winnipeg River, by Seven Sisters, in Manitoba.

Check this thing out.. The last picture is unbelievable!

This guy (in the photos below), was fishing and caught a 36" Pike - as he was reeling it in, a 56" Pike tried to eat it!!!!! He brought them both in on the same net.

Awesome catch on a river in Canada - 55lbs-56 inches.
It goes to show you that live bait works the best for the giant fish.

That's a pike from Europe...... it's also been posted before:

http://www.bloodydecks.com/forums/go...ite-north.html (Monster pike from the great white north)

http://www.bloodydecks.com/forums/fr...-o-saurus.html

seems the story changes every time.

I have one at home on my wall as well.

Not a record breaker by any means, 41 inches @ 27 lbs. Great light tackle fish ate my fish story behind this one too. Happens nearly everytime we fish in Canada.

I knew something was fishy about the report. I thought I had seen that somewhere before too.
