Was supposd to fish a private resevoir yesterday but with the forcast still calling for high winds in the valleys we decided to wait for a better day to use our hallpass

. Decided to hit the Hero or Zero lake (SARL) to see if I could find that fish to bet my PB of 17.2. Arrived at the lake at 4am and was in the front of line 4. Sweet. They opened the lake gate at 5:50am and after paying my entry fee I jammed to the go to spot. Herd a few other spots on the lake where producing better but I new when the winds kicked in there would only be a few fishable spots. Plopped the bait rods out at o'dark 30 and waited, and waited and waited. Fished untill 1pm and didn't get one bite. Also tossed avery kind of minijig, troutteaser, castmaster, and roostertail to no avail. Group next to me had 8 rods out and managed 3 rats by the time I left. A gentalman on the other side of the group did nail a nice one around 11am and he was the hero for the day. He hooked it and got the nice fish close to shore but his buddy only had a small hand net. I watched him fight the fish and was surprised nobody with a bigger, longer handle net offerd to help him out so I grabbed my long handled net and ran down to help him out. Scooped the trout out up and gave him an est weight of 14 to 15#'s and told him congrats. Turned out to be 14#. Not bad eh!!

. Also, found out it was his first time at the lake, whatta score!!!!! Here is a picture of the guy and his 14#'er.
He was the Hero and I was the zero for the day

!!!. Thats why I call the lake the hero or zero lake as it only takes one bite to make your day. Also, didn't see one fish caught from the boaters or tubers at the bubblehole. Realy slow day!!!! and when the wind picked up, it was howling and blowing dirt and crap everywhere. Still looking forward to hitting it again soon.
Untill next time,
