Poway 11/22 AM

Hit up Poway this morning to try out a couple lures I bought from Noahs. Set up on the fishing float to join about a half dozen fisherman. Tied on a gold kastmaster and started chuckin' away for a few missed bites. I landed 2 trout by 11 and thats all she wrote. Not much action happening anywhere else thanks to the hot weather. Did see a few caught here and there but it was mostly scratch fishing for everyone.

Best action of the day... after catching my first trout and putting it on the stringer... a big green, fat, hungry, 5lb largemouth enhales my trout halfway into its mouth. It did this repeatedly everytime I would pull my trout away from it. Everyone was bent over the rail in awe watching this greedy poacher steal my catch. I ended up retying the stringer so the trout was on the surface. gunz

15 minutes later the same hungry bass is on the other side of the fishing float ripping scales off another trout on someone elses stringer.

I might have go back later this afternoon with my bass rod and a bluegill. I wonder if LMB make good tacos like calicos?

Thanks for the report Leonard. I was talking to Kevan on the phone when you were in the store. Said you were going to Poway. A Bass attack on your trout..............

Last year I was fishing from a boat at Poway tied up to the log boom. As I was winding a trout in a school of bass followed it to the boat and one of the bigger ones nailed it. I eventually got the trout back all chewed up. The same thing happened again on the next trout. If I had brough my bass rod I would have pinned one of those trout on a bigger hook and thrown it back out.

Sounds like someone needs to be fishing trout swimbaits in Poway. Screw the trout, bass that size fight harder than any 15 pound rainbow.

Haha Captain Curt that was you on the phone. I was wondering why there was no one up front. It forced me to look around the store a little longer and was tempted to bust out the Visa.
