Got up at the butt crack of dawn to start fishing around 5:45 A.M. There's a lot of green shittage in and on the lake. Fouls up lures, line, etc. Tough trolling Rapalas, but Needlefish come through it pretty good. I was able to find some fairly clear water in the main channel of the lake up around Alligator Point. I managed a couple of fish, both rainbows, on Needlefish. I took a break and ran up into McGee Bay and it's really bad up there. Some very big clumps of green stuff floating out there.
As far as the flyfishing goes, I guess they're doing quite well way up in Mcgee fishing with indicators, midges.

Dude, thanks for the post man. Hope you have better luck up higher this afternoon.
I looked at Lake Hodges down here yesterday, and its about the same way, just to damn hot and the algee is just going crazy.

It's at 9200' elevation and South lake is at 9750! Gin clear. Hey, that reminds me. I'd better mix up a little for cocktail hour. Let's see now, that's three parts Tonic and one part Gin. Got it.

Ooops, sorry I missed that, Shelly. As usual, your best bet has to be a call to Tom Loe and Sierra Drifters.
