Sorry Greeper buddy....I couldn't help it!
Well after the day we had yesterday, seeing as it is a holiday weekend and all, we headed back out to the owens for some afternoon fishing. Got to the river about 1:30pm and fished until dusk, about 5pm.
It was a banner day for both Evan & Lane, I mean they just tore it up!!! I however was stubborn and was intent on finding fish in a different spot than we did yesterday….it didn’t work and I ended up with 1 tiny native rainbow on the day and a few missed Alpers. Oh well….it was so frickin beautiful out there it would have been worth it even if I was skunked. go figure, I remember the camera but totally forgot my game!!! hahaha!!!
My sister, Mom and myself took a lot of pics…mostly of Evan & Lane catching fish, but some scenic pics too….what a great afternoon.
As was the case yesterday, all fish caught on mini-jigs….mostly 1/32oz. Colors varied…white, yellow/red/white & green/red/chartreuse were the hottest and scored the biggest fish. Below are some pics of the day but keep in mind that these guys released a bunch more fish that I didn’t bother posting pics of…probably 10 each landed, almost all of which were in the 2-5lb class.
So..the photographic play by play…..
It took us just a few minutes for Evan to go bendo!
Way to start the day off right Evan!!
Evan’s second fish of the day…
Lane’s turn to get in on the action….
Lane scores another beauty!
Another beauty caught by Evan…stunning colors on this fish.
Lane’s best fish of the day….Alper, and a big one!
Evan fighting his best fish of the day…
And the results? Another huge DFG brood stock fish for Ev.
My sister Lindsey getting artistic with the camera…
Took some time to take some pics of my own since I wasn’t catching didley squat.

One of my brothers scored this photo near sunset.
It was great spending time with the family today, just wish my Dad could have been here but the poor guy is back home passing a kidney stone……..maybe my fishing day really wasn’t that bad after all huh?
All fish C&R.
Peace,
smitty
