The stockers at Cuyamaca and Doane's Pond have ALWAYS been smaller. Always will be, something to do with the size of the impoundment in the DFG's opinion. The only way you'll ever see larger planters in that lake is if the lake pays another hatchery to stock, like the S.D. City lakes do.
There are some nicer models in that lake though. the water stays plenty cool enough year round for them to grow. My personal best out of that lake is 4.5 lbs. on a green and white rapala at the dam. Years ago, but my step-son caught a couple over 2 lbs. this year. Just right place right time right bait. It's pretty up there too, so always a nice place to go.
