Laguna Niguel Lake 12-8-05

Fished the lake on Thursday and we did pretty well although the bite was by no means wide open. My buddy Andy and I primarily tubed the flats and each caught close to 15. Andy lost a nice trout that I would guess 5lbs+ as it jumped and did a belly flop on the 2 lb test. The trout couldn't make up their minds on how they wanted the jig. Sometimes fast and sometimes dead sticking it. The fly guys did their thing and enjoyed decent success. Mainly the local pro was killing em, Frank Murata. Most trout were released unharmed as usual. I was able to fish my new Stella, which was the highlight of the trip for me. I forgot the camera so unfortunately I don't have the pics to back my catches up today.

Andy beat me for total count again and was awarded the free beer prize as usual at Friday's. Looks like I'm going to have to ask Pickle boy for some more secrets to get an edge again.

right on mitch thanx for the report , we had a similiar day today water got muddy from the rain last night and we struggled to finnesse the fish today as well ended with 12-15 fish all nice size kept 4 bleeders for the neighbors dinner table and called it a day @ 12.30

i kicked kyles ass today (but that goes without saying )
he has the pics on his camera as i dont own one that works
( maybe santa will bring me a new one 4 xmas )

you should have seen the shadow kyle & i had following us around the lake today it was hilarious when we were nailing fish and this guys couldnt get bit !!!

whats up with andy kicking you but 2 times in a row , you had that undeafetd streak going and all of a sudden he is smoking you , he must have some secrets he aint sharing with us
( popping his tube may be a option next trip )

Nice work on Friday and it sounds like it was the same type of bite we had. Yeah, we had a little bit more of a mellow shadow going on Thursday. Frank took most of the attention and then there were 2 boats that couldn't follow the jig tubes with much success.

As far as Andy is concerned he is going to get his ass handed to him this week in the competition. I'm going to lay the smackdown on that gayz:. You bringing up my 2 losses in a row is getting me fired up in itself Doug.

Infact I called Andy about 20-25 times on Friday night between 12am-1am telling him I was going to take his Mom out for a nice steak dinner and not call her back. He was pretty pissed being that he had to work early the next morning. He had it coming to him though. If by some chance he gets an early lead the back up plan will be to give his tube one of these :Stab_emot .

In fact the best thing we can do is bombard him with a constant call of Eeeeeawwwww, Eeeeeeeeeawwwww!!!

Andy, is out of control right now. Dude is probably :hump: his float tube right now in anticipation of the next trip. You are definitely in the competition Doug from now on whether you cut out at noon or not. On those days we can just cut it off early and give you $5 each to pick up a 6 pack or something. When you make it a full day then you can head out to the bar with us and

. Next trip we stop Andy's BS winning streak and make him pay for beer again.
