Day started out with me and Garrett (aka "Fishkiller G") picking up Swazi a little after 0400 and meeting up the Capt. Curt at Lake Irvine. Bad news, no boat rentals and nobody allowed to launch their own

. Curtis make a suggestion, "let's go to Mission Viejo". A few minutes later we are negotiating with those in line to let us the hell out

. We are on the H2O at Lake Mission Viejo before 0630 and fishing, wooooo whooo!!!! The first hour started out with strong gusty winds and Curtis nailing 2 trout, Swazi getting his first trout and Fishkiller G picking up one. Things got really crowded in the little trout hole Curtis had found so Fishkiller and I set out to troll around the lake. LMV is a electric troll motor only lake and trolling with the wind at your back is easy...... coming back against the wind is another story

. About noon we pull back just outside our original starting point and Fishkiller wakes up from a little 1 1/2 hr. nap to a screaming drag on the ultralight. He's fully rested and begins putting the wood to trout. He nails 7 more trout in about an hour. Everytime calling out what # the fish is, he knows that limit is 4 per person and he's bound and determined to "we gotta get 8 to limit out dad!" . Well, I think his (and my) vocal enthusiasm on the slaughter created too much attention because everybody that was fishing tight to the shore were now migrating out to us

. By the time he got our limits the wind had died down to next to nothing and it was actually getting warm. What a great day on the pond, fishing with my son and watching Curtis & Swazi throw lures and see the constant hookups and trout dancing out of the water was too cool. Fiesty little fish made the day for this proud dad. Thanks again Curtis and Tim for the great day.
I've got Pix, but can't figure out how to shrink them from 1.6mb to 976kb
