Fished Irvine Lake today with by buddy Ron from work.
Rented a spiffy boat at 0600.
Only about 15 boats on the entire lake.
Went to west shore and soaked bait, (with cirlce hooks of coarse).
Saw 2 deer along the shoreline.
Ron tied on a chrome katmaster and naile a dandy 2 1/2 lb R-Bow on the first cast.
That was it..... 1000 started trolling.
1120 picked up another dandy trout on #5 jointed f-tiger rapala.
Watched a hawk attempting to nail ducks on the water after about a dozen attack dives, cool stuff!!
1300 headed back to morning bite as we saw the spotter planes circling and new something must be happening.
Sure enough... 1400 bite goes full speed on bows on bait, tried to call in a sporty but ended up waving in a grumpy old man in a straw hat. Turned his frown upside down after sliding in and picking up 4 in a hurry.
1545 fish are crashing the surface up and down the entire west bank but its time to go home

Lake closes at 1600
Thanks to someone who helped with tips on The Vine

Mucho Gracias!!!
Caught lots of feesh, and lost even more,,,, these trout are very fiesty, imagine catching rat Yellowtail's on 2lb test.
Almost forgot to mention, returned boat at 1555 and didn't dump the crapper, they said we are not welcome at the rental dock anymore.
