Got off the phone with my folks about 2:30pm today...they were on Crowley....so this is a second-hand report.
They had wide open perch fishing all morning fishing in about 10ft of water accross from Green Banks(?). Fish were biting on pumpkinseed or white/brown grubs tipped with crappie niblets however when they switched over to greenish/black mini-jigs they started getting more and better quality fish. Most productive technique seemed to be drifting with the jig about 6ft under a bobber.
They started targeting trout about 1:30pm and had already scored a few beautifully colored rainbows in the 1.5lb range. They were slow trolling needlefish in cop car & hot pink down 3 colors. Wind is coming up so they probably called it a day shortly after our conversation but were having a blast out there.
Anyhow....there it is. I wish it was me but oh well.....might as well be my folks if it can't be me.
Here are a few pics my folks sent me of their Day on the lake...
