Glad to see someone else fishing Lake Wohlford besides me I've fished there 8 or 9 times in the last couple months with some pretty good success bass fishing. I was there last thursday and caught a 4 1/2, 4, and 3 lb bass and the tuesday before that I got a 4lb 13oz. I used to fish for catfish using dough baits but have only caught some smaller channel and bullhead cats, that's a really nice one you got and you have a really good chance at winning the monthly whopper contest and a free boat rental! Was that caught in Oakvale Cove? I'll be there tomorrow morning at 6am and I'll post a report if I can get them to go

Yes I was fishing in Oakvale Cove....What part of the lake do you find the best Bassin? What is the best technique for bass at that lake? I usually just catch small ones with lures or plastic worm.

Nice cat matt. The little bro looks happy way to spend time with the little guy.

Thanks Jesse,
Caught the big guy right as the lake was closing so I didnt go to the ranger station to weigh in... Too bad we would have won the Whopper Contest for the month of June since we were there on the 30th and the next biggest cat was 5lbs

I've actually caught my biggest bass out of boat dock cove even though the water there is less than 5ft deep. The next best spots I've had success are off all the submerged rocks down past bass point. Lately I've been killing them with a texas rigged 4" berkely chigger craw in watermelon seed color and the best times have been either early in the morning or later in the afternoon because of the hot sun. Went yesterday and today and got a bunch of smaller ones the biggest maybe 3 pounds, really tough fishing though with the hot overhead sun and lack of shady structure in the lake. Wish they would raise the water level back to how it was 5 or 6 years ago...

Ya I remember my dad taking me to the lake years ago.......The water was up and you could catch bluegill all day long in the flooded timber. With our current water situation I don't think they will fill it any time soon.
