I have not been there since the fires, is it starting to grow back, or is it still all burned up?

Taking the kids fishing, that's good stuff. Practice on the trout for Tuna pulling in the future. Can't beat that.
Thanks for the report and pics.

the last time i was there we woke up and started fishing right at the break of dawn right off the jetty. We werent catchin shit, so i was messin around with just a worm, a hook and a piece of line. i just threw it out and a crappie took the whole damn thing out of my hand. so i used a fishing pole and caught about 25 of those little basterds right in the rocks.

Nice going there Stan. Good to see your son with a fat stringer. Bet he liked that outing more then standing in the rain. Must be cool to have a lil dude to go fish with and teach.

Cuyamaca been there once. It was cold, it was windy, I got skunked, I left to lake Jennings did okay.

I grew up in Julian and worked at that lake as a dock hand in high school. IMO the lake blows, it has been poorly managed by this guy named hugh marx.

Try and find a lake that the locals up there call stone lake it will totally be worth it, its not visible from the road but its on pine hills road just after deer lake park on the right hand side through the apple orchards. It borders an area called hoskins ranch, more great ponds in hoskins. I used to catch blue gill that were the size of footballs, great big old fat bastards. There is tons of structure and lots of big large mouth bass. Surface area wise its about 1/2 to 3/4 the size of cuyumaca.

btw new to the forum, misuse invited me
