Quick Troll Session at the Vine

Snuck up to the Irvine Lake again today for a couple hours of trolling . Caught 4 rainbow stockers on the shad pattern crankbait again. Nothing huge. Lost an estimated 4 pounder at the boat. Hard fighter. Tailwalked like a marlin on the strike . All the fish came mid-lake area . Saw another troller kill it in the same area on a pink crankbait. I think it was a mira shad . He would not say . Tight lipped dude . But , I saw enough . I have heard from others that the pink mira shad and the orange mira shad were producing lately. Saw Mits the magic man as I was heading out. He limited out on the west shore early soaking bait. Still looking for that DD . Maybe Saturday ? If I am ever able to spend a whole day fishing , I might do some damage ? Tight Lines !

Ken, if you get to fish all day the lake level will probably drop and inch or two after you are through fishing there.

Sorry about the quatro that got away.

I screwed up . I pulled the hook while trying to net it. Would have had him with a net man. No worries, not a huge fish. No nightmares of lost DD . Too much drag pressure when the fish was boatside. Getting used to my new 09' Shimano Symetre Rear Drag. The Drag adjustment is a little more sensitive than the older models. Great Reel though .

I replace any water volume loss . ROFL . They need a floating portapoty mid lake . Imagine the brown trout, errr, uh ,crappie that would hold under thing.
