Any of you freshwater guys hooked in to one of these monsters????????

This record 140 LB Cat was hooked and landed at Lake Texoma. I would of liked to see the size of the Gold Fish that it was caught on

That's actually a Wells catfish that people catch in Europe. You can tell because a wells catfish has a long almost eel-like body. I caught some decent-sized flathead catfish (up to about 45lbs) back while I was still living in Georgia. The state record is around 100lbs.

When we fished for them, we would use whole bluegill for bait. Flatheads aren't like most catfish in that they eat mostly live bait. It's hard to get them to bite dead bait. If you do a Google search for a wells catfish you can see alot of pics of monster fish. Then do a search for blue, flathead and channels (the big 3 in America) and you can see the difference.

the local blues and channels have definetly been well fed by the stocked trout, they will bust a trout (or a fake one with a couple treble hooks hanging off it) on a regular basis- I know the CO river Flatheads love the fin baits too- these ain't your grand pappy's catfish, they love a slow moving artificial as much as the LMB-
