Yesterday I had lunch with the wife. Today I had lunch with my Bitch. Corb and I found the best kept secret in town.
**** Restaurant Review**** Tasty Garden Buffet 7984 La Mesa Blvd
Hit the door to the place right at 1145. Parked right out front. Big gurl drug her ass up there about 5 mins behind me. Walked in and got seated right away in a very well lit booth. Now normally a booth would be murder on a couple of real men (big gut crew members) but for some reason we were both comfortable. We didn’t even get a chance to sit down, and the skinny girl that works there took our drink order. I had a diet coke, Corb pulled down the real thing. Looked around and the place was about 1/3 capacity, but not loud at all. You could have a conversation without every hearing what you were saying. there was a 52" plasma hanging in the middle of the room with the news going. nice touch. the place was clean and well maintained. no dirty carpets and the bathroom had soap and paper towels.
The hot food lines were normal stuff, ¼ beef dishes, ¼ chicken dishes ¼ pork and ¼ seafood. A lot of fried and stir-fry dishes. Some American cuisine (pizza, apple pie, etc.) The thing I like about this place is the Mongolian station. A cold island that has approximately 20 different items on it. Load it up on a plate and hand it to the person at the grill. 2 mins later, hot food. In addition, the sushi station stays full with fresh made rolls, and they will make whatever you want while you wait.
Must try items are the bacon wrap crab, and the green lips. they aslo have Peanut Butter Chicken (try this shit)
With the price, and parking, and food quality about the same or better than Sunrise, I give the nod to Tasty Garden and rate it a strong B+
Now don’t get me wrong, Sunrise buffet use to be my go to place, but when I do a side by side comparison, Sunrise fell short.

Great! The long rod impresario has turned into a restaurant critic. Not that the dining information is unappreciated but if your gong to be the long cast guru you must distain from the dining posts other than an occasional pastrami comment or two. Man up and wait for 4 to 8 weeks and we can go south and you can sling the surface iron.
