| Good, simple yellowtail recipes??
Anybody have a good one that is relatively simple to do in a pan? Tried searching the food and bev section but didnt see anything.
Tonight I am trying (again):
sauteed yellowtail with olive oil, butter, garlic and green onions (yawn).
Suggestions?

Trader Joe's Island Soyaki. Buy some, marinade fish for a couple of hours. BBQ. Serve with salad, rice, vegetable, etc.
I actually made the yellowtail sliders shown on the Offshore Adventure TV show last week. You can find the reciepe on their website. Grill the marinaded Yellowtail, canadian bacon and pineapple slices and put them on a toasted Kings Hawaiian roll. Serve with salad, cole slaw, tortilla chips, etc. It was freaking good!
The kids watched the show with me and my oldest said he wanted that for dinner so I whipped it up last night. Supper easy.

Costco sells a Herbal Seafood Rub that I use on both Yellow Fin Tuna and Yellowtail. Simply put some olive oil on your fillet add the Herbs (I like my light however my bro likes a lot so you may want to try it couple of ways). Get you pan hot with some light oil cook for about 2 minutes max on each side and your ready to go. I have served this up to over 25 people in last year and never any compliants. My friend Peter's (Baja Bound) son told me about this. The nice part is that the cost is about 1/4 of what you pay Bar B Que Galore. I think it was $5.99 for a 10 oz jar.
I am going to try the recipe Troy mentioned tonight. Let you know how it turns out

Sear both sides, then remove from the stove and put in the oven at 300º with butter and capers. It will be done when you say it is. Less time= more rare .DUH(thanks for the word, Roland)

Put the fillet in a alum foil boat. Add lime or lemon juice. Get some plain potato chips and crush them. Sprinkle them over the fillet and put more lime/lemon juice on the tater chips. Close/seal the foil boat and throw it on the BBQ for 10-15 min depending on thickness of the fillet. Open up and enjoy.

Mix honey, wasabi powder and soy sauce and marinate. Then grill. Use reserved marinade (take some out before you put the fish in to marinate) as a dipping sauce.
Serve with sticky rice.

Pan fried recipe:
The key is to use Sesame Oil. Cook on Med High heat and sautee to med rare. Add a little pepper and roasted sesame seeds when finished.
Make a little spicy mayo if you want for dipping (Mayo and chili sauce).
Super easy and really tasty.
