North of SD. Anywhere from the Valley to OC would be nice.

I don't have a great place for steak in San Diego, this outta be a good post.
My wife digs pasta, I'd rather chew glass than eat it. She loves the Macaroni Grill, I found they sport a 16oz Ribeye that fuckin rocks!
I've had better steak, but not in San Diego-lookin forward to some great spots.

San Diego... Red Tracton's, right on the north side of the Del Mar racetrack. Best prime Rib I've ever had... Oh and they cook it the way you order it, so if you like it rare, they'll rip off the horns and the hooves and trot the beast out there with a sunburn.
And for you old fucker's, they're house dressing is Green Goddess (AKA used to be Ranch dressing in the old days). Lot's of wise guys in there during race season.

J.J.'s in Oldtown Pasadena, but you will pay for it. Plan on $50.00 minimum per person without drinks.

by far the best steak around is at Mastro's! my personal favorite the bone-in ribeye. get the seafood tower for an appetizer. this combo can't be beat, IMHO. located in newport beach and beverly hills, morton's or ruth's chris can't touch it.

Red Tractons for San Diego area, not much for atmosphere but a hell of a stake, and good service. Great salad, football size potato prepared at the table with whatever you want on it. Don't go there during the racing season, you can't get in unless your a regular.
I've been very disapointed with Ruths Chris, in my opinion, very over-rated and two expensive. I don't know if there's an Omaha Steak House around, but there pretty good.
