| Leopard Shark Recipes Needed
Finally after many moons I caught a legal leopard shark, 52". Great sport. Caught it yesterday around PL kelp on a medium sardine. Acted like a hali. It dropped the bait 3 times and took about 5 minutes to finally hook.
I have never eaten this beautiful creature but thought just this once I'll give it a try and see if it is as good as others have described. I got a few recipes online and did a little reading. Some say the belly meat is not that good. WRONG! This morning just to see i fried up a piece of 1" thick belly meat with the skin still attached taken from the ends of a large steak. Just saute'd it in olive oil with a little salt. It was one of the best eating fish I've ever had. Even ate the outer skin which i crisped up while frying. It had some oil between the skin and the meat which added to the flavor and I'm sure it's full of those good fatty acids. Now sorry i cut the skin off the steaks but did keep all the belly wings off the steaks with skin on. Perhaps I'll substitute bacon instead for the steaks.
Some recipes you guys have for this shark would be appreciated.
Also I have a BBQ party this saturday. Will the steaks keep in the refrigerator for the 6 days til they are eaten? I have a frig that blows freezer air into the bottom frig meat compartment and keeps the meat from very cold to barely frozen.
