Lower Owens River

A nice Alper's rainbow which attacked a #8 Rickard's Seal Bugger (purple) a few days ago.

nice fish I didn't know trout frequented the area I think you are in thought it was all bass

The Lower Owens are we fish is from Highway 6 down to Warm Springs Rd in Bishop. This area is loaded with wild browns and is planted with rainbows from Hot Creek hatchery, Bishop Chamber of Commerce, Adopt-A-Creek, and Tim Alpers. As you head south of here, you still find trout, but bass become a bit more prevalent. Here are a couple of big ones from previous years...

Great fish and report..I know I would love to see more reports from you guys up there..When you get a chance (i know it isn't often) please put up some reports so we can keep up to speed on the bite on the Owens and other spots...

Absolutely, I will be doing updated reports for Shelly and Bruce on www.BigFishHappen.com every couple of weeks or more frequently depending on conditions. You can also sign up for out Sierra Drifters report which will be automatically emailed to you at Sierra Drifters - Guide Service .
