Re: Good Luck to TunaFvr and the Shark

I hope they enjoy the pre-fishing days. The weather man is going to try to shit all over this tournament again this year. Saturday's forecast is for 30% chance of precip, isolated thunderstorms, and 15 mph winds.:Poop_and_

15mph is nothing compared to last year's winds with white caps and judge boats taking waves over the bow..........

Hey, then that's great news. If you need a tow truck (boat) give me a holler. Takes me about half an hour to get up the hill and get launched.

How do you all get to the spot in your tubes anyway? Use the big boat to take you out or do you just kick?

Kick like a mother fucker....over labor day weekend the water was the highest that I've ever seen it, Just a guess but I 'd say we had to kick about a half a mile to the spot in mcGee bay.....

I might just have to take you up on that offer.....

I'm going to be working on the outboard as soon as I get parts. New water pump kit going in. Runs like the wind at full speed but has been spitting steam at low RPM's/idle. I've got a 22 lb thrust electric for slow going, too. I'll send you a PM with a Cell Phone. I might just go up on Saturday to check it out anyway.

What about getting taken out to McGee by Tube Tenders? Are they still running that pontoon boat with the lift on it?

Thanks Jeff and everyone for the good wishes...

This is Shelly posting from TunaFvr - Bruce's computer, mine is dead

Jeff - Short story on the Double haul- full version soon to come...
The wind came in Friday night and screwed up our fish plans...
I will put up a real report with pic's as soon as I get our gear cleaned up and put away. We got home last night about 12:45 - 1 a.m. He had to be at work this morning.

Bruce pulled a scorable in on the tournament day-
He got owned by a nice 20+ fish it tangled him up with his anchor line

I was into the 16's yesterday, all around the Leighton area- there are a bunch of dinks in there too - One 16" wrapped me around the anchor line then around my fin - I had my rod in the water to untangle him and get the fish off of me and I still landed him

This week was my first time to fish Crowley in a float tube and I am stoked I did not sink, pop the tube or flip over...
My first fish on Thursday out of a float tube was a 18"+ fish. Gary took that pic for me and I am trying to get it to post in the full report...

Huge week for us up there, I learned a lot. Bruce is learning to have more patience with me and my slow learning ability on the fly fishing
But I was rigging up my own Midge set ups changing colors when every 15 minutes when nothing happened... This is how he got his 20+ on team work on what was working...We needed you and your brother up there to cover more of the lake.

Jeff- Bruce & I already have plans on next year- a totally different way to read the lake...
There is another area of McGee that Bruce never knew about Frank was all over it...

I did get to meet Josh & Ryan I was floating out of McGee and met Josh as I was floating by -
Ryan took 6th I think this year He and Josh were some kickass people and I am sure Ryan is hurting today - they went out last night for his birthday

All I can say is Next year!
I don't think I did too bad for being my second time up there and first time in a float tube. It is a whole other world when I am in the water and away from Bruce. I can't thank him enough

Re:TunaFvr and the Shark

So, Shelly, did you get in some good fishing the few days before the tournament? It was real nice up here midweek.

SHELLY POSTING FROM BRUCE'S COMPUTER- I AM CALLING COX TODAY FOR HELP

Yes-
We got up there Tuesday night and rented a boat Wed. for the day.
One of my best fish wed. was my best ever... 19 1/2 bow I was shaking after I landed it - I did not get a chance to get a pic before it was released. We had a fun day on the water
Thursday was my first day in the float tube... I caught fish
Friday fishing was a goose egg for me... I stayed in Mcgee to work that area and then I lost the channel and the wind moved me around then my teeth were chattering from being cold so I kicked out of the main fishing area and that is where I met Josh & Ryan I have great pic's of these two
By saturday I had my comfort level in the tube and had a blast fishing
no scorables but a darn good time!

I should have my computer up today to get the pic's up

Sounds like funny Shelly and a new type of fishing for you to learn and enjoy.

Don't worry we can differentiate the 2 writing styles.
